Huge deal, October 29, 2008 Hilow (San Francisco, CA USA) This is huge deal. I have the AMD Turion 2.0 dual core with the Vista 64 and 4Gb of DDR2. This little PC is fast and flexible. Forget about hardcore gaming though. The graphics card on this machine is way way too underpowered. For everything else yes. I use this as my Couch PC. I know I sound like a total slut but I had to have one. My main machine is a Dell Inspiron Core2 Quad 2.4ghz with 4mb DDR2, 512,DDR3 high end graphics card for serious gaming. This HP unit was refurbed but who cares. It came with the factory box, all the documentation, new screen, new case, only the guts are old. It looks fantastic too. Glossy exterior and a glossy Bright View monitor. Renders everything insanely easy to view. This machine has it all card reader, light scribe, as I edit lots of HD video the firewire port is a huge plus. Took forever to get here but it did arrive in one piece. Doing even basic stuff makes the processor work at max output. Compared to my Quad core, the power meter spends lots of time in the red. Running spybot or even pandora or online bill pay can be done simultaneously but man that processor is really pegged. The wireless performance is insane. I had it out of box plugged in and was stealing a signal in less than 1 minute!!!!! Where on my old HPnc6000 I would maybe get one or two bar the same signal is 4 out of 5 with this machine. Its cheap, fast, great wireless features. Everything you would expect from a "state of the art" notebook pc. Biggest con? What the F#$%! were they thinking with the mini-shift key on the key board? If you can get it to work more power to you, that thing is the size of a pea. I guess it takes some getting used to. Not a deal breaker but weird. I recommend the seller J+R, if you have champagne taste and a beer budget go refurb! Bottom line, this was a smart purchase. A great machine by a reknown manufacturer.
